It focuses on information held or processed about any European Union resident, the rights of individuals regarding the processing and storage of their information and the responsibilities of those handling that information.
What does this mean for Macomb County Genealogy Group? We are not sure but here is what we can tell you about how this site and MCGG handles your information.
The Macomb County Genealogy Group (MCGG) is a non-profit organization based in Michigan in the United States.
Sales
Currently we do not sell anything electronically online. We do have some books available for sale but one must print out the publication order form and postal mail it with payment to our physical mailing address. The information provided on that form is simply used to process the order and is retained for accounting purposes only. The information on the order form is not shared with or sold to any third-parties. If/when we implement online sales this privacy statement will be updated.
This Blog/Website
This website, www.mcgg-letstalkgenealogy.blogspot.com , can be accessed (read) directly or subscribed to by email. It utilizes the Blogger.com blog-publishing service owned by Google LLC. Blogger has its privacy policy for users here. Google.com has its own privacy policy for users here.
Cookies
Our website appears to use a cookie. As far as we can tell, it does not contain any personal identifying information. To delete the cookie simply locate it in your browser's cookie list. For instructions on how to do this, see your browser's help information.
Our website does use some very basic Google Analytics. This helps us see how we are doing. Again it does not contain any personal identifying information just aggregate information about site traffic and site interactions. (Aggregate information includes things like browser type, language, referring site, time of day, country, etc.) This aggregate information is held for a period of time and then deleted but again it does not contain any identifying personal information. Member Surname Lists
Our MCGG attendees have the option to submit their ancestral surnames with associated time frame and location to our MCGG Member Surname List which appears on our website with the member's name. We moderate contact by using our group email to facilitate contact rather than list the emails of our MCGG attendees. The person making inquiry contacts our group's email and we then forward that person's email message to the MCGG attendee. That is the only way that inquiring person's email is used. It is not used in any other way or sold to any third-parties.
If at any time an MCGG attendee decides to remove any or all of their ancestral information from the MCGG Member Surname List, that MCGG attendee simply needs to contact us using either of the MCGG emails on our contact page.
Comments
Comments to this blog are moderated to prevent spam messages. When you make a comment to a post on this blog it is public if it is approved for publication by our webmaster. Not all comments will be approved. The name you use to comment and the contents of your comment message are publicly viewable but the email you use to make the comment is not. If you opt to be notified of other comments to the post you commented on be aware that those emails are sent by Blogger not MCGG.
MCGG does not use the emails used to make comments for any purposes other than to respond back if needed via the Comments feature. We do not sell these emails to any third-parties.

If at any point you desire to discontinue your Subscription by Email, simply click on the "unsubscribe now" link at the bottom of the last subscription email you received. See the image below.
Please note MCGG does not use the email that you use for the Subscription by Email for any other purposes nor do we sell those emails to any third-parties.
