Got Macomb Township Roots? Got Photos? Author Seeks Photos for Book

The Macomb Township Historical Commission is hosting an Old Photo Scanning Event on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the township hall.

The commission is assisting author Linda Osbourne-Cynowa who is hoping to publish a pictorial book on the history of Macomb Township. Osbourne-Cynowa previously published a book on Washington Township's history with Arcadia Publishing.

Osbourne-Cynowa is hoping those with Macomb Township roots will check their closets, drawers or where ever their old family photo collections reside for old photos of people, places or events in Macomb Township. And, of course, be willing to let them be scanned at the scanning event.

The older the photos the better -- you know those black and white photos or even tintypes that have been in the family for years. Subjects like one-room school house class photographs, old family businesses that may no longer exist, early houses of worship in the township, old homestead and farms in the township, and, of course, the early families who resided in the township.

To email the author scans of old photos of Macomb Township, send them to the Brummie51@comcast.net address.

The Macomb Township Hall is located at 54111 Broughton Rd in Macomb Township.

See you soon at Mt. Clemens Public Library!
