RootsTech 2023 Conference Live Today, March 2 through March 4 -- Enjoy!

The RootsTech 2023 conference started today, March 2, and continues through Saturday, March 4. It is three days of genealogy and technology learning both in-person for a fee and virtually for free. It is a combination of live (some live-streamed) presentation sessions or workshops and pre-recorded presentation sessions.

There is lots to learn just search in the On Demand area. At present the preset filter is for 2023 sessions -- the new stuff. But you can also search recorded sessions from conference years 2019 through 2022.

In addition, the virtual Expo Hall opened today as well. Select the vendor and see what is in its virtual booth. There may be sessions regarding the vendor's product or service. There may be special sales and deals to be had. Some vendor booths take you that company's website instead.

Spotted in the RootsTech 2023 Virtual Expo Hall were:

DNA Sales
There are various DNA sales during RootsTech. See the MyHeritage website for its sale ($49) on MyHeritageDNA. See the FamilyTree DNA expo booth for its long list of sale prices on it various DNA products. We have not spotted an AncestryDNA sale yet.

Our In-Person March Meetings Cancelled; Returning to Combined Virtual Meeting

We hit an Oops/Surprise. Our March in-person meeting plans are on hold until April -- we hope. So to be clear, our Friday, March 3, 1 p.m., in-person meeting, and our Wednesday, March 8, 6:30 p.m., in-person meeting both with the topic of Welcome Back!/Open House are cancelled. We will not be meeting in-person because the Local History and Genealogy Room is closed for work to be completed.

Instead, we will hold an MCGG and Let's Talk...Genealogy groups combined virtual meeting Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 7 p.m. using Zoom Meeting. The topic of the meeting is  ... Digital Organization presented by Lisa Eschenburg and Robert McGarry using our Let's Talk...Genealogy discussion format.

We have also revised our 2023 Winter/Spring Schedule. See our Let's Talk and MCGG Friday meeting pages for the revised schedule PDF. The above image of the revised schedule is just a low-res image.

Sorry for the change. Let's hope the LH&G Room is ready for April.
