The Polish Genealogical Society of Michigan's January meeting will be virtual and in conjunction with the Polish Genealogical Society of Connecticut and Northeast. Theresa Leszcz will present Using Skanoteka on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2 p.m.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Pre-registration (see the PGSM website) is required and opens to everyone January 6, 2024.
The topic is Using Skanoteka. Skanoteka is one database in a suite of databases hosted by the Polish Genealogical Society website. Skanoteka's sister database, Geneteka, is the biggest database for researching Polish genealogy. Access to the Skanoteka database does not require a login and is available for free.
The speaker Therese Leszcz, is the current president of the Polish Genealogical Society of Michigan (PGSM). Prior, she served in a variety of PGSM board positions. Leszcz regularly submits articles for PGSM's publications, the Polish Eaglet and News from the Nest. She has created and shared bilingual genealogy templates as well as several tutorials for the most commonly used databases in Poland.
