Family Tree Maker 2014 and for Mac 3 are Shipping Again

Family Tree Maker 2014 and Family Tree Maker for Mac 3 are available for purchase again.

MacKiev.com, the company that actually worked on the program for Ancestry.com and eventually bought FTM after Ancestry.com discontinued it, has made some updates and fixed as many known bugs as it could.

If you already own Family Tree Maker 2014 (from Ancestry) make sure you are on MacKiev's Product News email list so you will be notified when the free update for current FTM2014 owners becomes available. (You don't need to buy anything until the next major version is released.)

If you do not already own Family Tree Maker 2014 but want it, make sure you are on MacKiev's Product News email list so you get the notice of the reduced introductory pricing. (MacKiev says this offer will be sent March 4.) The regular price will be $69.95 with the introductory price set at $49.95.

There is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for Family Tree Maker that answers many common questions. Reading this FAQ is very helpful. If you own an older version of Family Tree Maker (Family Tree Maker 2012 or Family Tree Maker for Mac 2) and missed out on buying the FTM 2014 download from Ancestry.com, there is a discount price ($29.95) for those upgrading.

The software is available as a download product or as a CD product.

See you soon at Mt. Clemens Public Library!
