The same day as our What Is Going On? presentation on Friday, September 5, 2025, RootsMagic announced the release of RootsMagic 11 for Windows and Mac.
RootsMagic is offering a special introductory offer until September 30, 2025, at midnight Mountain Time.
New users can pick up RootsMagic 11 for only $29.95 instead of regular price $39.95.
Owners of prior RootsMagic versions can get an upgrade for only $19.95 instead of the regular upgrade price of $29.95.

RootsMagic Version 11 was inspired by user feedback. RootsMagic focused on making the software's interface easier and clearer. The interface's various icons now come with labels that tell you what the icon stands for. Workspaces were redesigned to be clearer and more comfortable to use.
A Life Summary panel was added and simplified with expanding/collapsing sections. Editing was made more smoother and intuitive. There is a new Sources view putting every source for a person in one screen. Notes and tasks work the same with one screen.
Advanced Search has been redesigned to combine rules with AND, OR, or BUT NOT, search by multiple event fields, and even look for people without sources or those who aren’t linked into the tree
RootsMagic 11 also adds a AI Prompt Builder. The first of its kind in genealogy software. It helps you create clear, reusable prompts to use with the AI of your choice. It does not add AI to the software rather it helps you build queries to use when you decide to use AI.
Also added are practical improvements users have asked for: print relationship charts for any calculated relationship, mark facts as “proposed” to capture theories without cluttering your proven research, and use new proof icons to track your confidence in each fact. The Explorer now incorporates the Life Summary panel, making navigation smoother than ever.
