Map Guide to German Parish Registers

More volumes of the Map Guide to German Parish Registers series have arrived in Local History and Genealogy Room of Mount Clemens Public Library.

The new Map Guide arrivals.

MCPL is one of the few libraries in this area to have this series which helps one determine the location of the church parish for each village in the areas that made up historical Germany.

Currently MCPL has volumes 1 through 56 -- every volume that has been published to this date.

Volumes 1 through 55 cover the various states/provinces of historical Germany with one or occasionally a few volumes devoted to each state/province. Volume 56 begins the coverage of the free cities with Hamburg. More volumes are planned by the publisher to cover additional free cities.

The books are part of the Local History and Genealogy reference collection and must be used while visiting MCPL's Local History and Genealogy Room.
