MCPL Resource Update: One Expanded and One New Newspaper Database

ProQuest's Detroit Free Press database
As of today, the Mount Clemens Public Library's subscription to ProQuest's Detroit Free Press database has been expanded. Patrons visiting the library will now have access Detroit Free Press articles from 1831 to 1999. That is an additional 77 years of coverage. To use the ProQuest Detroit Free Press database you must be in the library using one of the library computers or your own when connected to the library wifi.

NewsBank's America's News database
Additionally, as of two days ago, the Suburban Library Cooperative member libraries now have a subscription to NewsBank's America's News. This database provides full-text searching and retrieval of articles from over 3,000 U.S. newspapers, magazines and broadcast transcripts, as well as selected web-only news sources. America’s News contains 100 newspaper titles from Michigan, including The Detroit News. The America's News database may be used in each cooperative member library with no sign-in required, or it may be accessed remotely by signing in with a valid library card number through the cooperative member library website to which your library card belongs.

See you soon at Mt. Clemens Public Library!
